Alexander heads the international trade practice as well as the practice pertaining to representation of the interests of foreign and Russian clients in the field of international commercial arbitration. He has extensive experience of representing businesses in courts, including the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation.
Alexander is a member of the Moscow Chamber of Attorneys, member of the Central Council of the Lawyers’ Association of Russia. He is a member of Presidium of the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and a Vice-Chairman of the Maritime Arbitration Commission at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (since 2012). He is also a member of the International Trade in Legal Services Committee at the IBA.
Alexander graduated cum laude from the International Law Department at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University) at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1994. He has an LL.M. degree. He is an Assistant Professor of the Chair of Private International and Civil Law of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University) at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Professor of the Chair of Private International Law at the Russian School of Private Law.
Alexander is an author of several monographs, over 100 research papers on various issues of the international commercial arbitration, private international law and international civil process, the currency and civil law, regulation of the international trade in legal services.
He is fluent in English.
Oleg specializes in representation of the Russian and foreign companies during consideration of antimonopoly and administrative cases in the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia and its territorial bodies, protection of business interests in the court proceedings in connection with application of the competition law. He consults clients on application of the antimonopoly (competition) law, including application of the acts of antimonopoly regulation of the EurAsEC (the Customs Union) and the CIS states.
Oleg is a member of non-profit partnership “Contribution to Competition Development”, plays an active role (including as the head of several working groups) in activities of that leading expert body, inter alia, preparation of antimonopoly (competition) draft laws, methodical recommendations and explanations of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia, preparation of proposals regarding improvement of the antimonopoly bodies’ practices and operations.
Oleg graduated cum laude from the Russian Law Academy of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, got his second higher education in the field Finance and Credit in the State University – Higher School of Economics.
He is fluent in English.
